Singapore Government Seeks Legal Advice Over Misleading Facebook Post.
The Singapore government is now seeking legal advice over a fake online post that claims its Prime Minister has endorsed a Philippine presidential candidate.
"The embassy takes a serious view of the misleading FB [Facebook] post," the embassy stated on its Facebook account.
Last Thursday, the embassy clarified through the same social networking site that any reported endorsement is untrue.
The embassy is referring to an FB post circulating online alleging that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has endorsed tough-talking Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for president.
The post has the Prime Minister's photo with the caption, "Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is the only presidential candidate that could make Philippines like Singapore."
"We also request the immediate removal of the post, which is a clear misrepresentation," the embassy said.
