Ex-Pinoy Dream Academy 'Davey Langit' Contestant Wins Himig Handog 2016.

The winners of the ABS-CBN’s Himig Handog Pinoy Pop (P-POP) Love Songs 2016 have been named on Sunday at the Kia Theater in Cubao.


"Dalawang Letra," which was written by former "Pinoy Dream Academy" contestant Davey Langit and performed by Itchyworms, was named Best Song and bagged the grand prize of P1 million.

The 2nd Best Song was given to "Monumento," which was performed by Kyla and Kris Lawrence, while 3rd Best Song" went to KZ Tandingan and Jay R's "Laban Pa."

The 4th Best Song and 5th Best Song went to Jolina Magdangal's "Tama Lang" and Angeline Quinto and Michael Pangilinan's "Parang Tayo Pero Hindi," respectively.

Other awards such as MYX's "Best Music Video," "TFC Global Choice Award," One Music PH's "Favorite Interpreter Award," and "MOR Choice Award" were given to Ylona Garcia and Bailey May for their take on "O Pag-Ibig." Kaye Cale received Star Music's "Listeners' Award" for "Nyebe."

The event was hosted Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, Robi Domingo, and Kathryn Bernardo. It featured performances from Daniel Padilla and Gary Valenciano.

Himig Handog Pinoy Pop (P-POP) Love Songs is the country's biggest multimedia songwriting competition.
